David Suzuki Interview (a.k.a. Fuck Botox) October 20, 2006

Just a post or two ago I mentioned Canadian Environmentalist David Suzuki. On Wednesday’s Dateline, (a fantastic Australian current-affairs programme), they featured an interesting interview with Mr Suzuki. He discusses Australia’s response to global warming, the problems with nuclear power and an articulate nut-shelling of politics. Well worth reading, in my opinion.
And on a side note, David Suzuki is 70-years-old and he looks bloody fantastic. It’s such a refreshing change for the artificiality of plastic work or Botox.
Why Does Canada Hate Me? October 17, 2006

It’s interesting to look at the map to see the different places people have viewed my blog from. Indonesia, Iran, India, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, Japan, New Zealand, Lebanon, South Korea, South Africa, and lots of Europe, to name some.
But (apart from Russia and China, which aren’t too surprising), there’s one glaring empty landmass. Canada.
Why? I would have thought my anti-Bush, pro-gay posts would be a hit in Canada. What have I done to offend Canucks? Trailer Park Boys is one of my favourite TV shows. I think David Suzuki is awesome. I love listening to Boards of Canada (okay okay, so they’re Scottish).
In a desperate attempt to woo Canadians to this blog, I will begin a series of strategic posts to lure Canadians here. And I won’t stop until I get at least one Canuck!
Here I go!
Gee, isn’t ice hockey great. I especially love it when they hit the puck with the stick. I can’t control my excitement when the Calgary Flames or the Vancouver Canucks or the Montreal Canadiens or the Edmonton Oilers or the Ottawa Senators or the Toronto Maple Leafs scores a goal. I really love ice hockey!
I’m not sure what city is the greatest in the world, Montreal or Quebec. Or maybe it’s Vancouver. Alberta gets a lot of praise too. Hmmm…
Did you hear about the Tories bringing in a bill to reverse the onus on dangerous offenders? I totally agree/disagree with it.
Stephen Harper is a great guy/an arsehole.
En Francais is wunderkind.
Canadians are the smartest/sexist people on Earth.
George W. Bush is an idiot. Americans are dumb and fat. Who likes South Park any way? Is there a better tree than the maple? Did I mention I like ice hockey? And that all Canadians are sexy and intelligent and witty and the greatest people on Earth? Ice hockey. American imperialism. Ice hockey. Ice hockey.
There, that should do it.
Also: Ice hockey.
